Why I Created the Pregnancy Masterclass...
Throughout my medical training and in speaking with my colleagues, including OB/GYNs, I've realized the lack of knowledge that we as physicians have about the musculoskeletal issues that arise from pregnancy into motherhood. We are simply not taught this in medical school or residency (or if we are, it is very brief without a proper treatment plan). I feel that we are doing our patients a disservice by not providing pregnant women with the right support.
For example, some of the most common complaints during pregnancy are low back pain and pelvic/pubic pain, yet most women are told they’re just a “normal” part of pregnancy instead of providing them with a solution. On top of that, many post-partum moms suffer from urinary incontinence (peeing with exertion such as coughing, sneezing, jumping, running) and assume that it is something they just have to live with.
